Welcome to the Board Information section of our website.
The role of the Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees' role is governance of the school. The Principal's role is management of the school – he or she is the school's Chief Executive. The Principal reports to the Board.
Governance is a "hands off" process whereby the Board ensures that the school is well managed and led, without doing the managing itself. It does not involve itself in the administrative details of the day-to-day running of the school.
The Board is proactive rather than reactive in its operation and decision making. Enhancing student achievement is its focus.
Board of Trustee Meetings
Board of Trustee meeting dates are noted in the school's annual calendar on this website and in the weekly school newsletter. Currently Board meeting are held on a Wednesday, starting at 7pm.
All are welcome to attend the meetings. Please note, however, that speaking rights for non-board members are at the discretion of the Board and they need to be invited by the Chairperson to speak.
Any issues non-Board members wish to raise must be included on the agenda prior to the meeting to allow BOT members the opportunity and time to prepare any response and/or information required. Agenda items must be given to the Board Secretary on the Friday morning prior to the Board meeting at the latest.
The School has a 'Concerns/Complaints' policy which outlines how parent concerns or complaints can be best addressed. Please follow this policy in terms of riasing concerns and/or complaints.
Planning Documents
The 2011-13 Charter has been completed together with the 2011 Annual Plan and is available on request.
The Board is also undertaking an extensive self-review project as part of our commitment to continual improvement in the way our school is governed. The policy review cycle is being looked at as part of that.
